Catch the Cajun Country Jam – Livingston’s Star-Spangled July 4th Celebration

The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays and this year, I’ll be spending it at the Livingston Parish Fairgrounds in Livingston, because that’s where the “Cajun Country Jam” will be.   This all-day event promises to be one awesome party, complete with arts, crafts, food vendors, exciting rides, and some of the best country music anywhere. The line-up includes Louisiana’s LeRoux, The Gillis Silo, The Chee Weez and a reunion of the popular 70’s and 80’s local country group “The River City Good Tyme Band”. And check this out: They’ve actually booked country superstars Tracy Lawrence and Mark Chestnut to headline the event! But they aren’t the only stars on tap for the largest one day celebration in south Louisiana. posterThe cast of the hit TV series “The Dukes of Hazzard” will also be attending! Bo (John Schneider ), Luke (Tom Wopat ) and Daisy (Catherine Bach ) will be there, along with Enos, Cletus and Sheriff Little. And you’ll also get to see arguably the biggest star of the show, the “General Lee”, TV’s most iconic automobile. Actually, over 80 replica “General Lees” from all over the country are also expected to show up…but don’t expect to see any speeding, because 2 of the most famous motorcycle cops in the world, Ponch (Erik Estrada) and John (Larry Wilcox) from “Chips” will be at the Fairgrounds, too! (See the complete list of stars who will be appearing here.)

Of, course, no respectable 4th of July celebration would be complete without FIREWORKS!!

Tickets for this one-of-a-kind event are only $20 if you get them in advance, and $25 at the gate. You can find out more about the event here: http://cajuncountryjam.com/general-information/

Now not everyone will be able to make it down to Livingston, but wherever you spend the holiday this year, take a little time to reflect on just how fortunate we are to live in this great country…the land of the free and the home of the brave!

I want to wish everyone a happy and safe 4th of July!
