Not in the Christmas spirit yet? Well, I have just the thing! Get yourself over to New Orleans’ Warehouse District for NOLA’s Christmas in the District, their annual celebration of the season!
This revitalized neighborhood, which is known for its amazing restaurants, museums and art galleries, will be decorated in style, and if a leisurely stroll down Convention Center Boulevard with its dazzling lights and gorgeous decorations doesn’t quite do it, a visit to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center surely will! That’s where you’ll find ChristmasFest, a 2 week event which takes place in the Great Hall starting today through Wednesday, December 24th. At the main entrance to the Center you’ll see an amazing light show with digitally animated effects synchronized to music. Inside is a massive wonderland complete with over 50 beautifully decorated Christmas Trees, a gingerbread house competition, “Santa’s Playland”, which features a host of children’s activities and a petting zoo, strolling carolers, concerts and many other events that will no doubt help to make your season bright. One of the most popular events is the “Santa Paws” Parade, where visitors get to see man’s best friends showing off in their Holiday-themed costumes. But no Christmas Festival would be complete without a visit from jolly old St. Nick, and at ChristmasFest you’ll not only get to meet and take pictures with Santa and his lovely wife, but also get the opportunity to attend his Sing-Along Pajama Party on December 22!
So if you want a sure-fire way to get into the Christmas spirit, then make your way over to NOLA’s Christmas in the District’s ChristmasFest.
I want to wish you and yours a wonderful Holiday season!
