What do the following have in common?
Irish, Cajun & Zydeco and Bluegrass music, an accordion contest, called square dancing, and a blackpot cookoff in the heart of Cajun Country, Lafayette…? That’s what you will find at the 5th Annual South Louisiana Blackpot Festival & Cookoff at the Acadian Village.
The music kicks off at 5PM on Friday, October 26 and continues until Midnight. The cost for Friday is $20.00
Saturday, October 27 begins with a square dance at 11 AM and the music continues until Midnight. The Blackpot cookoff which consists of three categories, Gravy (sauces, Gumbo, etc), Cracklin' and Jambalaya, begins at around 5PM with the judging ending around 7PM. I will be one of the judges for the cookoff.
The cost for Saturday is $30 and that includes tastings from the cookoff contestants. By the way, the music will go until midnight.
